14 birds of prey in Lushunkou return to the wild

Updated: 2019-08-15

A total of 14 second-class nationally protected birds of prey were returned to the wild by volunteers from the Lushunkou wild bird rescue station and the Dalian animal and plant protection association at the 203 Scenic Area in Lushunkou, Dalian, northeastern China's Liaoning province, on Aug 4.

The wild birds were originally found injured and sent to the Lushunkou wild bird rescue station by volunteers and local residents. After treatment and rehabilitation, some were released into the wild, while some are still recovering from illness or injuries at the station.

According to local media reports, the rescue station has treated and rescued over 50 wild birds this year, including some first-class nationally protected species.
